相手の外見や口調から内面を予想して、それを抽象的な言葉で質問する。と、質問された側は自分の内面を言い当てられたかのような気持ちになってしまう。そしてごく自然に内面について回答してしまう。そうやって得た情報をヒントに、質問者はさらに内面に踏み込んだことを訊いていく――。これを繰り返すうちに、質問を受ける側は「この人は私のことを理解してくれる！」と全幅の信頼をよせるようになる。
